Two beautiful Altenew layered flowers = One fabulous bouquet
The color inspiration for this bouquet was my niece’s wedding. These were her colors. Gorgeous!
There was a lavender field beside the outdoor wedding venue. So, of course, I stamped Altenew’s Lavender Build-a-Flower. The long narrow stems pair well with the Star Gazer, a larger round shaped flower.
The background is the Beveled Squares Stencil lightly inked in Butter Cream. I put ink direct to paper for the Birthday Builder sentiment background which is white heat-embossed. That same pale yellow is repeated in the bow.
Star Gazer Shaker
Star Gazer is beautiful in any color but it is spectacular stamped in the Sugar Plum family of inks.
This is a monochromatic card. Gold touches are in the Mid-Century Frame Die, the Thinking of You sentiment and a tiny bit of gold Stickles on the stamen.
Fuchsia
I spent some time with this stamp set before I finally decided how to design the card.
It’s a big set with two different size flowers, a bud, two leaves and branches. Each flower has an outline stamp plus 6 layer stamps. All of them line up easily.
To be truthful, I used the point of my alcohol markers to color those tiny stamens and green pieces at the top. All of the stamps had lined up so beautifully at that point I didn’t want to take my chances on those little lines not matching up.
The flowers were all stamped on my Misti. I made enough flowers to make two cards. While the supplies are out and the stamps all lined up on the Misti, why not make a bunch?
This flower hangs down from a branch so it’s very different from most flowers in the Altenew line.
After trying a couple different layouts I settled on this Leaves and Berries stencil for my background.
Miss You is colored with shades of purple, die cut 3 times and glued together.
Inspiration
There were four fuchsia left on my desktop after finishing the miss you card. My friend who just had 10 hour back surgery needed a card. I found a prayer sentiment in Wildflower Garden that had the font and size I was looking for.
A card with a significant amount of white space seemed appropriate.
To give the plain white cardstock some tailored elegance an embossed line was done with my Score Pal 1/4″ from the edges of the card front.
Now what can be done with those four flowers?
My first inspiration was a wreath. But there weren’t enough flowers for an entire wreath.
Landscape style I arranged the flowers in the shape of a C. Then the card was turned to portrait position and the flowers took on the look of a swag!
The card center seemed empty. I didn’t want anything that would dominate.
The greatest source of inspiration is just going through my Altenew stamps. There are so many little gems tucked away in the sets. The stars in Kind Words seemed ideal for this design and sentiment.
This is what resulted from different sources of inspiration.
