Altenew Inspiration Challenge

February 2024

Kelly Griglione is hosting the Inspiration Challenge for this month. It can be found on the Altenew Blog blog.altenew.com. The photo is from Cincinnati, a town near and dear to my heart. It’s gorgeous street art by Louise Jones. The use of pinks and oranges is not something I’ve tried. So, indeed, a true challe

Build-A-Garden Dear Dahlias has become my latest obsession. This set has dies like Craft-a-Flower for the largest image. I just LOVE that! The dimension it adds is amazing. This set is going to remain on my desk for quick access.

Background hot foil plates are my favorites. Dainty Hearts has foiled perfectly every single time I’ve used it. I’m still a little uneasy about having the hearts sideways on this card. But it actually works!

Just a Number happy birthday dies were the perfect size. I cut them in Brushed Gold Cardstock to co-ordinate with the foiling.

The dots and flower centers are cut from Glitter Cardstock to add just the right amount of bling.

Here are the same supplies used in a different way. The card is now portrait style and the background is the reverse image left from the first hot foil.

I’d love to see you in a class. I teach once a month on Bridget Casey’s Free Saturday Workshop and every second Wednesday. In person I teach at Bluemoon Scrapbooking in Tucson, Arizona. My Altenew classes and sign-up information are announced in the Altenew Newsletter.

  1. Wow, Pam! That is an AWESOME card! I love the foiled background! It really does pop! Your submission for the Inspiration Challenge sure is tempting me to start foiling. I also just LOVE this set! Is this what you will be teaching at your next Wednesday class? Thanks!

  2. Your second card is my favorite…
New orientation combined with the reverse foiled background created a card with drama!

    1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I agree with the second card. Somehow turning those hearts sideways just didn’t sit well with me.
