Altenew November Inspiration Challenge

Nicki Baxley shared this beautiful vacation photo for November’s Inspiration Challenge.

The monthly Inspiration Challenge is a great way to get your crafty mojo going. This time of year that seems to be needed more than usual.

The Inspiration Challenge can be found each month on Altenew’s Blog www.blog.altenew.com.

My cards this year have been mostly non-traditional colors. I found it a welcome change to get back to traditional holiday colors.

Texture was created in many different ways.

  1. The Perfect Poinsettia 3D Embossing Folder.
  2. The Obsidian Ink on the green cardstock looks like velvet.
  3. Brushed Gold leaves cut from the 3D Poinsettia Die set gives a smooth shine.
  4. Fussy cutting the Modern Poinsettia into layers of vellum and cardstock gave different texture to the layers.
  5. The gold heat-embossing gave a raised edge to the flower petals.
  6. Green Foiling the Season’s Greetings added more shine. (Holiday Greetings Hot Foil Plate Set
  7. Both gold and white splatter added more texture.
  8. The Metallic Gold Gem Sparkles at the flower center added another metallic type texture.

It seems I get these poinsettia supplies out every year and never run out of new ways to create with them.
