Altenew Inspiration Challenge Dec 2024

A Year In Review

I look forward to Altenew’s Inspiration Challenge every month. It motivates me to use a new color combination or technique. The Inspiration Challenge can be found at blog.altenew.com.

Another year of great Altenew Inspiration Challenges. For this month we are asked to choose one of the past Inspiration Challenge photos to create a new design. I selected the January, 2024 photo submitted by Agnieszka Malyszek.

The combination of green, blue and yellow-golds is one I have loved for a long time. Years ago it was what I decorated my home with. It’s a soothing combination that always draws me in.

My sister choose blue for her attendants’ dresses for her wedding. That anniversary is coming up.

So with this challenge, a card was created that needed to be mailed soon.

A new challenge and a new embossing folder. This is the Wings and Petals 3D Embossing Folder from CYL Wings and Petals.

The image was embossed on watercolor cardstock. I used Altenew Watercolor Tubes to color the flowers and leaves.

A hole was cut in a scrap piece of paper and placed over each flower center so black splatter could be applied.

Once dry, the panel was again put into the 3D embossing folder with Iceberg Fresh Dye Ink covering the front side of the embossing folder to create a letter press background. This process did have to be repeated 2 or 3 times to achieve the blue sky background I was wanting.

Three Circled Greetings: Love Die were stacked and trimmed for the sentiment.

White acrylic ink was splatted on the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

I appreciate your comments.
