Crafting with the Seasons

Spring

My favorite season is whatever season comes next. I always look forward to the change. It has been a cold winter even here in sunny Tucson. Spring brings life to the desert landscape. It just takes a little rain then everything gets greener and blossoms begin to pop. In the desert colors are bright, vivid pinks and oranges. Just magnificent.

In designing this card I wanted to go with pastel colors. So I went with a Pink Diamond for the centers of my CAF Lilac and a slightly darker shade of pink glitter cardstock for the flower centers. The base of the lilac is a green glitter cardstock.

For Sweet Garden Bird I used shades of Sweet Dreams and Cherry Blossom with just a touch of Whispering Woodland. The green glitter cardstock is used as an accent.

A ink press technique was used with Whipering Woodland ink on the Walnut Branch Embossing Folder for the background color. It’s what I would call a spring green.

The Sparkled Frame Die gives the card some white space.

This is an extra special card with lots of dimension and layers. It will cast a little more to send. But then it will be for an extra special person.

I teach virtually every Secon dWednesday and once a month on Bridget Casey’s Free Saturday Workshop.

The CAF Lilac was used in my February Class. Check out the post for that class on this blog for many other card samples.
