AECP Level II Polychromatic
Painting with Zig water color marker on a stamp, spritzing it with water then letting it’s do whatever it wants on the water color paper is hard for me. The paint is in total control.
However, this card exceeded my expectations.
The first layer water color-stamped by itself was just too plain.
So I let the first layers dry and did another layer in a darker colors The result was more varied color and depth.
The three large Hellebore flowers needed to be masked in order to water color-stamp the leaves.
This Polychromatic class is filled with new challenges.
The challenge in Nina’s lesson #5 is to color Copics with a light hand.
My Copic coloring has come full circle. In my first classes with Copics, instructors were always suggesting my coloring needed to have more depth, “Get into your darker tones.”
Now it’s difficult to use a light touch with pastels!
I literally used this lesson as a tutorial copying Nina’s color choices and following her technique step-by-step with the Beautiful Day stamp set and dies.
My grandson will soon be 6. Nina’s birthday card in Lesson #1 was just the idea I needed using Altenew’s Birthday Greetings stamp set.
I used Versa Mark and white embossing powder for the highlight on the balloons. Some masking was necessary so the highlight didn’t continue onto the overlapping balloon.
The confetti hearts came from the Radial Hearts Cover Die. Look what a cool cover die was left after all of the hearts were popped out!
