Decorative Motifs Outline Stamp Set

Anna Griffin offered me my first design opportunity. She greatly influenced my love for Shabby Chic. This design reminded me of Anna.

This is my favorite coloring technique learned a number of years ago from Yana Smakula.

The two images from Decorative Motifs Outline Stamp Set were stamped over and over on a 6×6 white cardstock panel.(It was later cut down to 5 1/4″ Square.).

Flowers were colored with a variety of Altenew Alcohol Ink Markers including Cherry Blossom, Enchanted Garden and Green Meadows. White Gel Pen was used for the centers. The background was then colored with black.

White ink splatter came last.

Sentiment is the Word Faith Die Cut Set.

CYL Butterfly Garden

I am a two time breast cancer survivor. The New Pink Bubblegum Dreams ink family, the word Hope and butterflies from CYL Butterfly Garden just combined to make a great card for encouragement.

The Jar from CYL Butterfly Garden was stamped with Obsidian Black Ink. The decorations on the jar are from Dancing Drops Stencil blending Rock Collection inks. The Sentiment is clear heat-embossed.

I masked off the jar to create the background. It was stamped with two leaf images from CYL Butterfly Garden using two different greens from Tropical Forest.

Zero-Waste Butterfly Garden Cover Die was die cut then stenciled with Bubblegum Dream.

This background was an experiment gone right. I first intended it for the design on the jar from CYL Butterfly Garden. It turned out so beautiful that I thought it deserved a bigger space.

On watercolor cardstock I painted an ombre design using Altenew Watercolor Tubes.

After letting it thoroughly dry I ink blended Fresh Dye Inks through the Dancing Drops Stencil.

The CAF Carnation Layering Die Set was die cut from white cardstock then ink blended with Lapis Lazuli and Green Meadows.

Garden Bench Mini Delight Silhouette Stamp Set and Dies.

Such a sweet little set. Easy to assemble. The bench could be any color coordinated with a small die cut or stamped flower garden.

The background on this card again used the Dancing Drops Stencil over Dew Drops Colored Cardstock.

Black Glitter Cardstock was used for the ironwork on the bench.

Thinking back, collecting bugs and putting them in a jar was animal cruelty. Somehow as I kid I believed a few little sticks and leaves would feed those little creatures. So those are the strange thoughts that are part of my creative process. And that’s what first made me think I needed to turn the jar upside down for a design.

The sentiment would be perfect for a graduation card.

All of the elements for this card came from CYL Butterfly Garden.

Black ink was applied with a brayer to the debossed side of the image that had been embossed on Tropical Forest cardstock. The effect is so dramatic with that bright green showing through the black.
