Educator Instagram Reel Hop

December 31, 2024

Tags are my favorite thing to create, especially this time of year.

I grew up in Northern Indiana. Snow created the most beautiful setting for the holidays.

Here in Tucson, Arizona, snowfall is rare. It’s really hard for me to accept houses decorated with holiday lights but no snow. So I created my own snowy setting for this reel.

Featuring Altenew snowflake dies including Layered Snowflakes and Layered Snowflakes 2

Here is a step-by-step tutorial of how this tag was created:

Die Cut Tag from HEAVY cardstock

Ink Blend tag with Blushberry Bliss Blush Rose Fresh Dye Ink

Die Cut snowflakes from masking paper.

Spray with Frosty Pink Ink Spray and remove masks. It’s pretty just as it is. But there’s more!

Die Cut snowflakes from 80# white cardstock and glue to the tag. We could stop here. But there’s more!

Splatter Titanium White Artists’ Gouache heavily on the tag then splatter with pink Metallic Watercolor.

Bling time! Snowflakes die cut from glitter cardstock. Tiny dots punched from glitter cardstock add the necessary sparkle. Layer upon layer upon layer and we’re almost finished.

Stack different sizes and shapes of snowflakes die cut from white cardstock, glitter cardstock and vellum to create the focal snowflake. Glue it to the lower left of the tag.

Slightly offset two layers of the peace word die cut from white and pink glitter cardstock and glue to the tag.

This New Years Eve I wish for Peace all across the world.
