Skip this technique if you like to keep your embossing folders pristine. If that doesn’t bother you, smear jet black ink on the inside of the embossing folder Put a piece of gold mirror cardstock in the folder and run it through your die cut machine. Pour clear embossing powder over the wet black ink then heat emboss. Metallic beauty! Great for a golden anniversary.
For this card the first step is to blend the background using Altenew Crisp Dye Ink and blending brushes. The darkest blending is on the edges. The light center gives the impression of highlighting the toucan. That mini stamp gives a huge impact!
When I saw this embossing folder I immediately thought of candles. Yes. My imagination goes in strange directions.
On New Year’s Day I will be the very young mother of a 50 year old son.
There are 50 candles on this card counting the two above the number 50. (Yes. He will count them.). The gold glitter flames are the smallest hearts from the Radial Hearts Cover Die. The cake and number 50 are from Celebrate with Cake Die Set. (Rocks comes from All About You Word Die Set with the S amputated from the word miss.)
For this card I used an Altenew Blending Brush to stencil the pattern on cardstock. Then I simply drew the shape of a sweater and cut it out. It shows beautifully on the inked and splattered background

A little soap and water will usually take care of the embossing folder. If there’s stain it just makes it look more loved.
