Altenew Primrose Sympathy

Yana Smakula has been posting cards that are so unique that I immediately recognize the style as being hers.  They are colored with alcohol markers and all have a dark background.   This technique has been calling me.  And my fresh-from-the-mailbox Primrose Build-a-Flower is needing to be inked.

The card required a lot of masking.  Masking is kind of magical for me so I didn’t mind.   But larger flower and butterfly images would require a lot less masking.

Yana has many videos demonstrating this coloring technique.  It’s important to remember that alcohol markers and embossing powder don’t play well together.  You risk ruining your nib.  The gold heat-embossing on this card was the very last step.
