The new color challenge is a combination of pink, magenta and brown. When a new Altenew product comes into my house I open it immediately and drool over the tri-fold guide that comes with it. It stays on my desk until I use it. When this challenge was announced, Snowdrops Craft-a-Flower was sitting on my…
It’s New Years Eve Day. It’s a holiday but COVID sequestration keeps us home with some open time. The Christmas tree is still decorated. The wreath is lit in the window. Yet I am looking the other way. They can wait. I’m taking these two days to play. While I’ve been making Christmas cards and…
Preeti Chandran and Laurel Beard’s class called Modern Watercoloring offers some technique twists that are new to me. These cards are my interpretation of a technique Preeti teaches in Lesson #3. It has several steps including gold heat-embossing on acetate and die cutting the flower from the card front. I am really obsessed with it…
I mailed the Christmas tags yesterday, December 19th. I’m hoping they will get to the three California destinations in time for Christmas. Our challenge was to choose one of 12 photographs posted in the challenge blog during 2020 and make a card inspired by that photo. My photo was inspired by the July photo: I am intrigued by cards with windows. My card represents the window panes with the Garden Trellis Cover Die. The glass is created…
When I saw GEOMETRIC in the theme for the Educators Blog Hop I almost didn’t sign up. The word “geometry” brings fear to my heart. I spent after school hours with a demanding geometry tutor hired by my mother. He was a senior who thought only of mathematics. I don’t think he enjoyed those…
Thanks to Debbie Adams, a drummer in my family will get this tag/ornament for Christmas. It was the match sticks for drum sticks that really caught my attention. Debbie’s post of a similar drum really got my ideas flowing. The drum base (paper mâché box) is an Amazon purchase. The Tiny House, Tree, Deer and…
Arthur’s eyes tell the whole story. He does not like that I made him into a turkey. There will only be four of us for Thanksgiving this COVID 19 year. With so few, I could go a little more extravagant with the place cards. Arthur is cut from different specialty gold papers with shine and…
Prisma Pencil on Black Cardstock My quest to make slimline card continues. The flower and leaf from Poinsettia & Pine were gold heat-embossed on black cardstock using a mask when needed. The images were then colored with Prisma colored pencils. Using a very small brush, gold paint was dotted in the open spaces. I wish…
